Our good friend and Megillah family member, Lori Cahan-Simon recently released her latest Yiddish music CD entitled - Chanukah is Freylekh! A Yiddish Chanukah Celebration. Songs My Bubbe Should Have Taught Me: Volume Two.
I fully realize that Chanukah has come and gone recently, but this album is just so good, that I could not let the fact that we did not publish a December Megillah prevent me from mentioning and recommending this superb recording. This is the kind of freylekh music one can listen to without being aware of the specific time of year. And of course, Chanukah will be here again in just 11 short months and having this CD on hand will bring extra joy to the festival of lights.
In the meanwhile, I must also highly recommend Lori's earlier album - Songs My Bubbe Should Have Taught Me; Volume One: Passover. This joyous holiday is just over winter's horizon, so what better time to make sure you have this CD available for your listening pleasure when Peysakh blooms?
Both of these wonderful CD's are available at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/lcahan and http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/lcahan3 I urge you to treat yourself and your loved-ones to both of these Yiddishe delights. Lori is a true gem in the crown of Jewish music.
