Habla Inglis?
Re: The article written by Joe Klock, the "goy wonder"........ He neglected to talk about the fear many Americans have that English is being replaced by Spanish or bi-lingualism as the "official" language of the U.S. This fear is NOT unwarranted, since in many parts of our country, including mine, it can be difficult finding someone who speaks English or to find signs or instructions written solely in English. Since so many corporations and government agencies have gone out of their way to appease the immigrants by making it unecessary for them to even learn English, this country is headed towards exactly what Canada worked hard to prevent. But in Canada's case, the English speaking majoirty did not have a fear of an influx of French speaking people from France or the Caribbean overtaking them. So my solution to the illegal immigant problem here is to make English the Official Language of the U.S. and NOT to appease the immigrants or make it easy for them to to live a life here "English-free".
Editor-> Dear Lloyd, Thank you for your thoughts concerning Joe's column. I do not agree with your position, however. I am about as concerned that English will disappear from North America as I am about my local Sushi shop putting McDonald's out of business. Thanks again for writing and sharing your views. Michael
