Great editorial on health care, Michael. The US health care is indeed a mess and I agree that a single payer system would be a great improvement.. One factor that is generally overlooked is that the present epidemics of diseases could be sharply reduced through a shift to well-balanced plant-based diets. There are many studies that show this. In some cases diseases can be reversed through a shift away from animal-based diets. I feel that failure of the medical profession to emphasize these facts borders on "medical malpractice." I have over 130 articles on Jewish teachings on vegetarianism at JewishVeg.com/schwartz. As president of Jewish Vegetarians of North America and author of the book "Judaism and Vegetarianism," I would like to challenge anyone to a respectful discussion/debate on "Should Jews Be Vegetarians?" Unfortunately, the Jewish community has been ducking this issue. I think this is unfortunate since animal-based diets violate at least six basic Jewish teachings and they contribute to global warming and other environmental threats that imperil all of humanity and God's Creation. Thanks and best wishes for continued success with "Gantseh Megillah." How about a special issue devoted to the generally overlooked many moral issues related to our diets? Richard H. Schwartz
